I (Jeanne) love Thanksgiving and this time of year; it’s kind of the “kick-off” for the whole holiday season. Giving thanks! Just the other day I found myself “anxiously” thinking about some things in my head that were troubling my heart. Then as I had my “quiet time,” the Lord led me to Psalm 100. God is so good; He comes right into the midst of our concerns and troubles. He knows just the answer, if we’re only willing to listen and obey. (I already know this, but I guess I need reminders; I don’t know about you.)
Verses 4 & 5 say: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
In just doing what the Psalm said, I found peace as I “entered into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” Gratefulness opens my heart in humility as I remember He is worthy to receive my praise for who He is and for all that He has done. As I start thanking Him, trust grows in my heart that He has everything in His hands. As I pray, I give every concern to Him. Simple!
Also, humility opens the door for God to give me grace (the desire and the POWER to do His will), which means that if I need to forgive, God gives me the power to forgive. I WILL NOT forgive if I am proud. (James 4:6)
So I encourage you to “enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” Thank God for your spouse, for your children, for your parents, for others and for whatever He shows you.” If you find you need to forgive, go for it. Please let us know testimonies from your lives that would give hope and be an encouragement for others.
Where are the Dillons?:
This October, Jeanne had the opportunity to travel to Texas to spend two and half weeks counseling a special group of ladies. Hearts were transformed and relationships were reconciled as she met with each of them personally. Upon returning, Jeanne headed north to Washington State, for a month-long trip to welcome the arrival of the Dillon’s fourth grandchild – what a blessing! Meanwhile, Leroy has had a full schedule here in Redding, meeting with couples and single men, helping them to find personal freedom, wholeness, and their true identity in Christ. This fall, people have come here from California, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, Washington, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina.
Leroy and Jeanne will be coming to the Pasadena, CA area this January for a Transforming Hearts Ministries conference – TRANSFORMED: A Conference on Personal Freedom and Love. Are you looking for refreshment? Do you have friends you know would benefit from this conference? Come and join us January 22nd through 25th, 2014; we’d love to see you!
